The popular musical festival #Sunsetstrip was held in Argentina for the 4th time. Yearly raising the bar, this time the hosts opted for a drone light show to create a never-fading memory for 20,000 attendees.

Drone Show Designed by a Kid
The idea of big blocks decorating the stage and the sky came from our client’s son. While playing jenga, the 10-year old boy put Lego-man as a DJ and placed jenga blocks around. Our client shared the photo of this setup with the event director, who used it as the basis for the show.
Despite the simplicity of the geometric drone animations, the effect was overwhelming.

When Synchronization is Craft
Live music does not have a strict time regulation. The DJ turns on the track based on how he or she feels, so the drones must be ready to do the show at any moment. Which they can’t, since they usually take 1 minute to position and start building formations.
We needed the audience to start vibing at the planned moment, without noticing any technical wizardry behind the setup. So we redesigned the initial takeoff to make it shorter, sped up the drones a bit to position faster and light up when expected, making the crowds go totally wild.

For the first time, #Sunsetstrip featured a drone light show. Thanks to all the teams who believed in this concept from start to finish, 20,000 people enjoyed the stunning effect of our drone display to the favourite beats of DJ Hernan Cattaneo.
